Even when you spend time deep cleaning, you may miss some key areas. These are areas that you overlook during your normal cleaning routine.

You should create a new checklist to make sure that you don’t forget to clean these areas that can quickly stack up dirt.

Here are 7 often forgotten cleaning tasks.

1. Decorative Blankets and Pillows

Many people have blankets and pillows that they use to decorate couches and beds in their home.

You might forget to clean these items during your weekly cleaning routines. This can leave them dirtier than you might think.

Make sure to read the labels on these items before you go ahead and wash them so that you don’t ruin your blankets and pillows. Many of these pillows have removable covers that are machine washable.

2. Pet Accessories and Toys

Your pet can get their items dirty simply by shedding their fur all over the place.

Take some time to gather up all of their bedding and fabric toys to wash. That will help get rid of some, if not most, of their fur and dirt.

3. Indoor and Outdoor Garbage Cans

Garbage cans carry trash in them but can also get dirty on the inside when trash bags leak or food falls in-between the bag and the can.

You can use some dish soap and water to wash out the inside of the trash can. If your outside cans are even dirtier, consider using your garden hose with a spray nozzle.

This will power wash your trash cans for an even better clean. Adding vinegar can also help the neutralize any smells.

4. Dirty Fans are Part of Your Cleaning Tasks

When cleaning, many people forget to look up. Cleaning your ceiling fans is an important part to help keep your air clean as well.

Dust can end up stacking up on your fan blades and showering that dust down on you when you turn on the fan. Cleaning the fan blades every now and again will help prevent this occurrence.

5. Clean Your Window Treatments

Window blinds and drapes always accumulate dust. You can use your vacuum to quickly clean your window drapes.

Window drapes can either go to the dry cleaners, or you can wash them yourself and hang them out to dry.

Always try to regularly dust your blinds to keep them clean. If they are extremely dirty, you can clean the grease and grime by removing them from the window and soaking them with water and soap.

6. Chairs and Sofas

Your couches and chairs will need a good vacuum cleaning every so often.

It may be easier to take the couch cushions off of the couch and vacuum them that way.

7. Clean Out Your Refrigerator

Take some time to clean out your fridge of all food. Then use hot, soapy water to wipe down and clean the inside including the food drawers.

This will clean out all the leftover food remnants.
